Biography:

  • Education: A graduate of the University of Florida with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Trisha went on to complete her design education at Lynn University in Boca Raton.
  • Career: She is a Professional Member of the American Society of Interior Designers, a Certified Aging in Place Specialist and a LEED Accredited Professional. Specializing primarily in upscale residential design, she expanded her design proficiency and product knowledge in varied and diverse positions with prestigious design and construction firms. She now operates her own design business in Jupiter, Florida. Although the majority of Trisha’s projects are located throughout the many elite communities of South Florida, her work now takes her coast to coast across the United States.
  • Awards: For her excellent designs, she has won several highly regarded awards, including Gold Medallion and Gold Prism Awards.
  • ASID and more: As a current Florida South Chapter Board Member for ASID, serving as Board Member at Large and Professional Development Directors, Trisha has served on several committees for events and educational programs. 2009 Student Career Day, 2008 Green Conference at Hutchinson Island and ASID Green Expo are each events she was proud to help coordinate. In addition, she is active in Interior Design Licensing and committed to the design profession and interior design education. Trisha is also involved with community and charity Events. She sponsored an event for JAFCO, Jewish Adoption and Fostering Children Organization that raised over $3500 for the organization and participated in the tree decorating event for E Quality of Life, an organization that installs automatic door openers for accessibility.

  • Candidate Statement: If selected as a chapter leader, what key goals would you set and how do you feel they would be best achieved? Please limit your response to 75 words. I feel that the best way to have members become involved is to ask what they want from the association and then ask them to help us achieve those results. Communication is the key to membership involvement. As financial director I would work diligently on showing the members where their money is spent and how it helps them in their careers.

  • Candidate Statement: As ASID members we are on the brink of an exciting new era, the transition into a "Green" future. As a LEED AP, I welcome the opportunity to support the ASID platform in the areas of Continuing Education, as well as the guidance of our fledgling designers, our future. Public outreach is the key element in the success of ASID's newly established goals. My mission is to be a "Green" messenger.

Board Member at Large with a focus on Membership: Alex Matamoros, ASID

Biography: Alex Matamoros, ASID, graduated Suma Cum Laude, with a degree in Interior Design, from the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale, Florida.  His career has led him to design homes in Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, and the Caribbean.  His work has been showcased in the Ft. Myers Parade of Homes as well as the Port St. Lucie Parade of Homes. Alex has won numerous awards from the Building Association of South Florida and the Gold Coast Builder Association of West Palm Beach.   Previously, he was a Senior Designer for the Interiors Group in Boca Raton Florida.  Currently, Alex is the Director of Design Services for DCOTA.

 
Board Member at Large with a focus on Membership: Julie M. Leufvenius, Allied Member ASID

Biography:Julie M. Leufvenius is a licensed interior designer in Naples, FL for 9 years, with 33 years in the design business, including 19 years of practice in Minnesota.  Julie graduated in design and Scandanavian studies from the Univ. of Minnesota.  Julie is committed to designing interiors that are inviting and livable and has many followers.  She is recently completed the CAPS (Certified Aging In Place) and is busy conducting a variety of design seminars for SW FLA communities. Julie has been a member of ASID for about 20 years.
